All language modules are aligned with the Common European Reference Framework for Languages, which identifies six levels (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2). The different levels are described here.
The Module Handbook explains describes the modules in detail, including the required level for taking the course (starting level) and the level attained once you have successfully completed the module (target level).
The titles of General Elective modules actually specify the target level, e.g. Spanish – basic level A1.
Special courses are also offered with the aim of refining specific aspects of a language – in Business English Conversation , for example – rather than improving the general level. In these cases, a starting level is specified but no target level.
