The multi-award-winning MBA in International Business Management & Leadership

The Kempten programme is one  of the top MBA programmes in Germany and is internationally accredited. To gain international accreditation, specific requirements with regard to a programme’s size, content and quality management must be fulfilled. The EFMD also specifically requires an international dimension to meet its accreditation criteria.

EFMD-accredited programme

In June 2015, the MBA (Master of Business Administration) programme in International Business Management & Leadership was awarded international accreditation by the EFMD (European Foundation for Management Development). The MBA was successfully reaccredited in both 2018 and 2021.The internationally recognised EFMD hallmark certifies the quality and international scope of study programmes. The EFMD is one of three international accreditation agencies for MBA programmes, alongside the AACSB and the AMBA. The EFMD accredits only universities and programmes that incorporate an extensive international dimension. Further information on EFMD accreditation can be found here

Excerpts from the EFMD’s report

  • The independent positioning of the programme with a clear focus on personal development and self-reflection helps train leadership skills.
  • Lecturers demonstrate impressive vocational experience and live links with business, which help develop marketable skills for professional development.
  • Student-focused learning environment
  • A mixture between full-time international students and and part-time German students with similar vocational experience promotes intercultural understanding and communication.

Triple accreditation of our partner universities

Two modules on the MBA programme are taught in a two-week seminar block at the renowned University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business in Cape Town, South Africa. Alternatively, you can choose to spend three weeks at the royal National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA) in Bangkok, Thailand. In addition, participants have the option of completing an eight-week course at our partner university in Brisbane, Australia – the QUT Graduate School of Business der Queensland University of Technology. Both the University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business and the QUT Graduate School of Business der Queensland University of Technology have triple accreditation – a feat that only some 50 universities worldwide (less than 1%) currently achieve. The National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA) is AACSB-accredited and is currently completing the application process for EQUIS-accreditation.

System accreditation

The system at the Professional School was accredited by FIBAA in December 2019, empowering us from that point on to perform our own internal accreditation for degree programmes by a committee of auditors including external members representing professors, businesses and students (but with no need for a representative from an accreditation agency).
