The modular International Management Programme (IMP) teaches the skills required to act successfully in an international management environment.

You can choose whether to focus on sales management, general management or supply chain management, and you will also gain a solid grounding in business English and accounting.

Spending several weeks abroad as part of this programme (in either Brisbane, Australia, or Cape Town, South Africa) hones your intercultural skills. After that, you will spend three months investing your knowledge in a business project, recording your work in a final thesis.

Details about this course

The modular International Management Programme comprises the following modules:

  • Business English
  • Basic principles of accounting
  • Introduction to scientific methodology
  • International marketing
  • International strategy

In addition, you will select majors in the fields of general management, sales management or supply chain management.


This certificate course consists of 180 hours of teaching at the Professional School in Kempten, two MBA seminar series abroad, and work on a project, covered within a six-month timeframe. Your timetable will be compiled individually.

Lectures are held:

Fridays, 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. (approx.)
Saturdays, 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. (approx.)
Sundays, 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. (approx.)

Target group:

Engineers, computer scientists and other academic specialists wishing to acquire business skills.

This modular International Management Programmes is a professional part-time study format.

What does this mean?

You can study for this qualification alongside your work commitments. Seminars  are held at weekends.

Application deadline:

To start in the winter semester: 15 July each year (15 May for international students)

To start in the summer semester: 15 January each year (30 November for international students)

Admission requirements:

You should meet the following admission criteria:

  • A higher education degree (university, university of applied sciences, Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University)
  • At least two years of post-graduate vocational experience
  • Good knowledge of English

Alternative qualifications to those cited above will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
