Programme with extended practice – bachelor’s or master’s degree programmes

Focus on practice + flexible

Do you feel that a regular degree programme would be too theoretical and you’d rather also gain useful practical experience from the start? The programme with extended practice combines a regular bachelor’s degree programme at the university with intensive practical placements at one of our partners relating to your academic subject matter.

Bachelor’s degree programme

  • Duration: 3.5 years (incl. 16 months of work experience and 3 months spent writing your bachelor’s thesis)
  • Award: Bachelor’s degree (B.A., B.Eng., B.Sc., LL.B.)

Master’s degree programme

  • Duration: 1.5 years full-time or 3 years part-time (at least 8.5 months of work experience, incl. your master’s thesis)
  • Award: Master’s degree programme (M.Eng., M.A., M.Sc.)

How does it work?
You alternate between work placements and studying theory. You spend time in your company during the lecture-free periods, putting what you’ve learned into practice. In contrast to regular degree programmes, you will receive pay from the start and are entitled to holiday during university vacation time. You have plenty of time and scope to decide on adding extended practice, e.g. on a bachelor’s degree programme you have until the 4th semester to choose a company, sign a work contract and then continue studying in dual / cooperative mode. In contrast with combined programmes, every degree programme at Kempten University of Applied Sciences can be studied in liaison with a partner company or institution working in the relevant field. This also applies to master’s degree programmes.
