  4. Studying abroad

Your path to a semester abroad is quite straightforward

  • Kempten University of Applied Sciences has more than 100 partner universities worldwide
  • Tuition fees are usually waived, or at least reduced
  • There are also schemes to help with funding, such as ERASMUS+, PROMOS or HAW.International
  • The International Office  will help you to organise things
  • Partner universities frequently help exchange students to find accommodation, run a support scheme and organise induction events once you arrive

Look for a suitable host university

Use our Exchange options search engineto find the right partner universities to suit your study goals. You’ll also find info sheets, lists of recognised subjects, and first-hand reports by previous outgoing students.

You can get further information at our Information events, held during the International Week .

You are also very welcome to seek advice from the International Office.

Partner university versus free movement
Kempten University of Applied Sciences has more than 100 partner universities all over the world. These arrangements go beyond the benefits of lower or zero tuition fees. Collaborative arrangements made by your faculty also provide suitable subject matter for your degree programme. In addition, you can consult first-hand reports by students who have already spent a semester studying at our partner universities.
If you don’t find a suitable partner university, perhaps because you have very specific travel plans, you can still apply to study at a university that we don’t have an agreement with as a “free mover”.
