Dr. Shahid Quereshi is the director of the Center for Entrepreneurial Development at the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) in Karachi, Pakistan. The role of the institute is to support creating new companies that add substantial jobs, incomes and revenues to Pakistan’s economy.

Graduated as a mechanical engineer from the University of Engineering and Technology Lahore in 1990. In 1993, he was awarded the Government of Holland scholarship to pursue masters in Industrial Engineering and Management at Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok, Thailand. Later on, he obtained an MBA degree from the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS). In 2006, received the German (DAAD) scholarship to pursue PhD from the Department of Marketing at the Faculty of Business Administration at the Technical University of Berlin, Germany.
Over the years entrepreneurship and strategic management became his passion. In the year 2004, He teamed with one of the leading entrepreneurs of the region to develop a business school in central Punjab. The venture turned out to be a success and contributed in the development and the uplift of the region.

Dr. Quereshi program on entrepreneurship at the IBA has been declared the best program at the United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship annual conference in Philadelphia in Jan 2017. 

He is currently on the Board of Directors of National ICT R&D Fund (A company owned by Ministry of Information Technology of Government of Pakistan) and leading a nation-wide project to teach entrepreneurship online to youth all across Pakistan.
