    Aims and objectives:

    Effective communication is the intelligent energy that organizes and moves organizations. The unique demands of international business communication require an aware understanding of the purpose and process of communication for the manager. Through theory and practice, each participant is guided through a personal understanding of the three levels of communication present in each business situation. Methods for overcoming barriers, developing persuasive messages, utilizing feedback and delivering messages skillfully are developed through theory and role play. Utilizing a personal case situation and role plays, participants are then guided through the process of situational analysis, report writing and oral presentations to superiors and within teams.

    General learning objectives:

    Participants are brought to realization of the difference between normal talking and business communication as a primary competency in influencing behavior and introducing new ideas.
    This begins with a fundamental understanding of the two levels of business communication and the primary influence of the relationship in the message.
    The complexity of business communication is analyzed through examining and experiencing the internal self-dialogue that occurs simultaneous with the external dialogue with the other against the background parameters of the culture.
    Through dialogue and exercises, participants are guided in developing their communication competencies in planning, organizing, executing and monitoring their communication.
    Participants develop their understanding and skill in empathy through exercises in Aware Listening.
    Specific execution skills are developed with the Nonviolent Communication Model and the BATHEing Model.
    The importance of feedback is demonstrated and skills developed through utilizing the 6 Questions of Accountability.
    Participants are guided to an understanding and skill level in developing followers through utilizing the Talk for Self-Responsibility Model. Guidelines and templates are provided for creating reports and emails.
    Participants finish the course with a greater understanding of and expertise in being able to utilize their communication skills to influence behavior and introduce new ideas persuasively as a foundation skill in leadership.
