Die Bedeutung der Logistik für die Sicherung des Unternehmenserfolges ist heute unstrittig. Dabei eröffnet die Logistik bei immer härter umkämpften Märkten neue Möglichkeiten Wettbewerbsvorteile durch innovative Gestaltung des Material- und Informationsflusses zu erzielen und gleichzeitig zwingt der starke Kostendruck zu Effizienzsteigerungen.Die angebotenen Fächer des Modulbausteines werden diesen Anforderungen in vollem Umfang gerecht. So zielt die Veranstaltung Logistikprozesse auf eine Querschnittsbetrachtung der gesamten logistischen Supply Chain ab, während das Management logistischer Netzwerke den speziellen Logistikanbieter in Form von speditioneller Dienstleistungen in den Fokus stellt.Mit Informatik in der Logistik erfährt das Spezialisierungsmodul eine Unterlegung des heute marktgängigen ERP-Softwaretools SAP, so dass die Studierenden unmittelbar am System praktische Anwendungen üben können. Abgerundet wird das Ganze durch das begleitende Logistikseminar, in dem die Studierenden zeitaktuelle Themen selbstständig alleine oder im Team aufbereiten und präsentieren.
