Welcome to Kempten University Library!

As a central body, the University Library is responsible for supplying the University with literature and information for research and teaching. Furthermore, it makes its resources available for scientific and professional purposes as well as for educational and continuous trainings to anyone who is interested.

Opening hours on Friday, May 27th: 8.30 a.m to 4 p.m.

 Opening hours in Summer Semester 2022:

  • Monday – Friday:
    8.30 a.m to 6 p.m.
  • Saturdays:
    9.30 a.m to 2 p.m.
  • Sundays and bank holidays:

Opening hours during semester break:

  • Monday – Friday:
    9.30 a.m to 4 p.m.
  • Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays:

Please use our returns box ("Buchrückgabebox") when the library is closed.

Library Catalogue

The University Library Catalogue lists the stock held in Kempten University Library and other scientific literature.

If you are a student or member of staff at Kempten University of Applied Sciences, please use the link for university members to access electronic media (eBooks, eJournals, electronic databases).
If you wish to access the catalogue outside the campus network, you will first need to log on using your Campus ID (not your library user number).
Only university members can access our electronic media off-site.

We will show how to find the resources you need in a one-to-one training session via Zoom or in the library.

Scientific databases

The Database Information System DBIS contains all the scientific databases that Kempten University Library has licences for together with free-access online databases.

Members of Kempten University of Applied Sciences can also access DBIS outside the university network, using their Campus ID.

If you are not a university member, you can only access our databases inside the University Library.
