The Bachelor of International Engineering (IE) programme allows you to pursue a diverse range of specialisations and career paths without prematurely limiting your options. The curriculum encompasses the essentials of electrical and mechanical engineering, along with the international dimensions of engineering practice.
The didactic concept of the degree programme is based on project-based learning. You work in group projects in which the curricular content of the respective semester
is applied and deepened. The fifth semester is an industrial placement.
Learning and understanding the engineering fundamentals from different disciplines is challenging. However, it enables you to quickly familiarize yourself with new tasks from different areas and to mediate between the engineering disciplines.
The foundation course (semesters 1 & 2) provides you with a solid grounding in the key principles of STEM subjects and the international environment.
You will then spend semesters 3 & 4 honing your specialist knowledge and learn how to apply it in practical projects.
The practical (5th) semester gives you the chance to apply the knowledge you have acquired so far in a vocational engineering role and prepare yourself specifically for your future career.
During semesters 6 & 7, you can tailor your choice of majors to suit your personal strengths and professional goals.
Your degree is rounded off by writing your bachelor’s thesis. Upon successfully completing the programme, the university of applied sciences will award you the academic degree of Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.).
