The first two semesters provide the theoretical basis consisting of compulsory and compulsory elective modules.

A project and seminar series are also obligatory. The objectives in the project are to systematically hone the ability to analyse, adapt and make progress in research-related topics. In each case, the tasks are applied to a specific application scenario, The seminar series on “Ethics & AI” will help you to deliberate and question ethical issues before using AI algorithms and AI software systems.

Semester 3 is devoted to writing your master’s thesis, which is completed either as part of a collaborative project with an industrial partner or in one of the research projects being conducted at the university.

The university awards students who successfully complete the programme the academic title Master of Science (M.Sc.).

Graduates’ job prospects should be outstanding under the current conditions. Automotive manufacturers and their suppliers together with the segments robotics and medical engineering are in desperate need of specialists in machine learning. Many small, medium-sized and well-known major companies in the local region want to strengthen their artificial intelligence, as they consider AI and computer vision the greatest innovations in their products and want to secure considerable competitive advantages this way.

To be eligible for this programme, you must have attained a grade of at least 2.5 in a bachelor’s or German “Diplom” degree in Computer Science, or hold a qualification of equal value. Applicants who gained between 180 and 210 ECTS Credit Points in their bachelor’s degree can make up the difference to attain the skills level of 300 ECTS Credit Points required for the master’s degree from the bachelor’s programmes in Computer Science offered by the university of applied sciences.
