Workshop of the research project - Storage-Multi-App

Kempten University of Applied Sciences hosted the SMA workshop, at which leading experts from industry and research discussed the latest approaches for batteries and energy systems. The focus: exchange, collaboration and innovative solutions.

Kempten University of Applied Sciences hosted the annual workshop of the SMA (Storage Multi App) research project.

The “Storage MultiApp” research project makes an important contribution to the energy transition by developing sustainable and efficient battery storage solutions. The focus is on the optimization of industrial battery storage systems through multiple use (“multi-use”), for example for fast charging stations, photovoltaic tenant electricity models or grid stabilization.

The aim is to use a digital twin to better predict the ageing processes of batteries and extend their service life.

Under the direction of Prof. Holger Hesse, battery and energy experts from leading industrial companies such as VARTA AG, TWAICE and TWT GmbH as well as research partners from the Technical University of Munich came together.

The focus was on current developments in energy storage and the exchange between science and practice. Expert presentations, workshops and discussions enabled participants to share innovative approaches and jointly develop solutions for the future.
