Details about this course

The foundation course (semesters 1 to 3) teaches the fundamental principles of business administration, law, methodology, and the connections with social sciences and social economics.

The advanced course (semesters 4 to 7) is divided into three theoretical semesters and a practical one. In the fourth semester, you will focus on the various tasks involved in social management. Cross-sectional specialist topics such as financing, human resource management, organisational theory, quality management and applied social research are interlinked with typical areas of expertise (e.g. interculturality, evaluation, coaching, and participation and welfare law).

The two final semesters of study reinforce applications and link your knowledge with your experience in projects and in the field.

To channel your knowledge in the direction of your choice, you will select two subjects to major in – currently from:

  • Social Economy
  • Human Resource Management
  • Sustainable Social Management
  • International Social Management
  • International Social Services Management (major abroad)

To incorporate an element abroad, we offer you the chance to study relevant subject matter at a partner university. The practical semester and/or the major abroad in the semesters 6 and 7 are particularly suitable for this.

To round off your degree, you then write your bachelor’s thesis. Upon successfully completing this degree programme, our university of applied sciences will award you the academic title of Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) .

You can find an overview of all modules, topics and specialisations under Downloads > “Modul matrix”.

NEW! Starting Winter Semester 2025/26: Dual* / cooperative studies in 2+3 days format!

This new option of splitting the week (2+3 days format) is the perfect match for combining theory with practical work. During the lecturing period, you will spend two days per week studying with us at university, and then working full-time during lecture-free periods and the practical semester.
You will receive a consistent level of pay throughout your entire degree programme!
