Competence Centre for Innovative & Healthy Work in the Social and Healthcare Sector in the Region Alb-Bodensee-Iller

Period: 01.04.2022 – 31.12.2025

The social and healthcare sector makes a significant contribution to the provision of services of general interest for the population and is an important employer for many employees, especially in rural areas. However, social and healthcare organisations are confronted with social megatrends such as demographic change, digitalisation, diversity, individualisation and new demands on work contexts.

The Competence Centre for Innovative & Healthy Work in the Social and Healthcare Sector in the region Alb-Bodensee-Iller (KompIGA) addresses these challenges by developing and testing solutions and concepts for flexible and healthy work conditions in the social and healthcare sector. The concepts are aimed at practical challenges, such as the flexible and digital organisation of duty rosters or the integration of immigrant professionals. It is recognised that the sustainable transformation of the working environment can only succeed when employees are participating. Intelligent formats for organisational development and participation must therefore always be taken into account.

The aim of the KompIGA research project is to establish a competence centre for strategic, humane and innovation-promoting work design in the region Alb-Bodensee-Iller, which supports the social and healthcare sectors in coping with increasing changes in the working environment. The BZPD focuses on opportunities and barriers to the development, implementation and use of innovative concepts (particularly with regard to the possibilities of digitalisation) for the further development of new work approaches within and between social and healthcare facilities. The BZPD will accompany corresponding innovations from a social science perspective and place a special focus on health-related factors.
