Opening hours for the University Library during Winter Semester 20/21

From 1 October, the library will be operating an extended skeleton service, opening Monday – Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. .

The coronavirus outbreak still necessitates the following restrictions:

No more than 60 people can use the library at the same time!

Only 50 desks can be occupied (no advance reservations)!

Please observe the detailed hygiene plan issued by Kempten University of Applied Sciences for students and visitors.

Whenever you visit the library, you must always sign in at the Information counter. The building will be ventilated regularly, meaning that the temperature might drop below 21° C at times.

You must wear a mask covering your nose and mouth in areas with foot traffic (corridors, shelves, information counter, WCs, copier and scanning room, etc.), but not when seated at a desk.

Please always email the library in advance to notify us of any groups planning to attend for a tour!

Studying in groups in the library annex is still prohibited . The training room also remains closed.

To check the current “Dos and Don’ts”, please click here.

Access to the library is via the exterior stairs on the adjacent building (signposted from the entrance to the canteen).

Books can also be placed in the new returns box at the back door to the canteen when the library is closed! Access via the north car park (see site map).

Please check the return has been logged in your library account within a few days!

Library training during Winter Semester 20/21

The training options currently offered by the library for Winter Semester 20/21 (for new students, seminar papers and Citavi) are posted here.

Take a look here at the “Get to know the library” quiz that we have also compiled for first-semester students. The quiz is designed to help you familiarise yourself with the library from home. You will need to download the Actionbound app to take the quiz. Further information about the app can be found at Actionbound.

Please also note that we offer one-to-one training for bachelor’s / master’s theses (on site or via Zoom) – please email us to arrange an appointment: schulung(at)hs-kempten.de
