Usage by other individuals and school pupils

If you wish to borrow any books, you will require a library card, which you can apply for by presenting personal ID to staff at our lending desk.

Requirements for issuing a library card

• Minimum age 16 years
• Resident in Germany
• Presentation of valid personal ID or passport

• Users can only borrow books for home use upon presentation of their library card.
• As a rule, no more than 30 items (books) can be borrowed at a time.
• Books are generally loaned for a period of one month. Loans can be renewed five times, for one further month in each case, as long as no-one else has reserved the book.
