Our services

As a central body, the University Library is responsible for supplying the University with literature and information for research and teaching. Furthermore, it makes its resources available for scientific and professional purposes as well as for educational and continuous trainings to anyone who is interested. We are always happy to respond to questions and suggestions.

Besides the core literature on business science, social and health studies, tourism, electrical engineering, computer science and mechanical engineering, the library is also well stocked with general reference works and academic literature.

Kempten University of Applied Sciences Library holds approximately 75,000 printed books. It also subscribes to some 150 printed periodicals, regional and national newspapers (reference only). In addition, you can access over 600,000 electronic books and 70,000 electronic periodicals via our databases.

Please note our Information on using the library and opening hours. We would also like to point out that opening times differ between lecturing and non-lecturing periods.

For university members (students, doctoral candidates, faculty, and researchers), we offer numerous courses and one-on-one consultations on literature searches, reference management, open access publishing, and research data management. For high school and vocational school (FOS/BOS) classes, we offer research courses to support seminar papers.

Our library is accessible via a freely accessible elevator. An accessible restroom is located in the basement of the same building and is also accessible via the elevator. Students can reserve a study cube for four people. University staff and students may borrow books from our children’s book collection.

We are a member library of the Lake Constance Region Libraries Association.
