Open Library
Access to the unstaffed library

Starting in the 2026/27 winter semester, you’ll be able to use the library even outside of our regular hours.

Access is granted via a personal key card, which is issued for one semester at a time upon request. You must have an active library account. Please visit our information desk during our service hours to apply. Application forms are also available directly at the desk.

Access to the library with your own key card is available during the following hours:

• Monday–Friday:
  8:00 a.m.–11:00 p.m.
• Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays: 
  8:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m.

Please note:

• Access is permitted only with your own key card (do not share your card or allow others to use it)
• Please take your card with you when you are leaving the library for breaks! (Toilets are in the basement of building M)
• The library is to be used exclusively as a place for studying and working
• Video surveillance is in operation outside of opening hours
• Books must be properly checked out at the self-checkout machine before taking them with you
• Please return books via the return box at the rear entrance of the cafeteria
• At 11:00 p.m. or 8:00 p.m., the library is cleared by the university’s closing service. After that, access is no longer permitted.

If needed, people with disabilities can receive a key to the elevator. Please contact us directly.
