Office for Equal Opportunities, Family Affairs and Diversity (BGFD)

Gender equality work at the university is firmly anchored at various structural levels. In addition to the legal requirements that call for Central and Decentralised Commissioners for Equal Opportunities for Women in Science and the Arts (ZBGF) and the equal opportunities officers for academic support staff (GB), an office of Vice President for Internationalisation and Equality (VPIG) also exists at Kempten UAS. The Office for Equal Opportunities, Family Affairs and Diversity is responsible for the operational tasks involved in implementing programmes, measures and events relating to equality, family and diversity. The BGFD, managed by the ZBGF, is the central point of contact for all members of the university. Its three staff members represent the key issues of “Equality and Family”, “Diversity” and “Advancement of Women and Equal Opportunities”.

Decentralised commissioners for equal opportunities for women in science

The decentralised commissioners for equal opportunities for women in science and the arts (DBGF for short) support the achievement of the goals and the legal mandate in the faculties. They are voting members of the relevant faculty councils and are involved in every appointment procedure with voting rights. In addition to the legal stipulation in Art. 66 (2) HIG, this is also pledged in the university’s appointment guidelines.
