Applications period

Applications must be submitted between 4 April 2023 (starting 10 a.m.) and 25 April (finishing 10 a.m.)

  • Starting 4 April 2023 at 10 a.m.: Register in the applications gateway – DSTIP.
  • Between 4 April 2023 (starting 10 a.m.) and 25 April (finishing 10 a.m.): Apply online via the applications gateway – DSTIP .
  • By 25 April 2023, 11:59 p.m. at the latest: Application form and documents on paper must have arrived in the post room at Kempten University of Applied Sciences. (Bear delivery times in mind!)

Documents required

For all applicants

  • Signed application agreement (download from applications gateway – DSTIP)
  • Eligibility for university
  • Curriculum vitae – bullet-point format with photo, signed
  • One-page personal statement (describing your personal and career aspirations, any plans for spending time abroad, also noting any delays in studying caused by corona)
  • Evidence of activities outside school or not related to your subject
    • Duration and description of role
    • Signed by the executive board or director of the organisation
  • If applicable – evidence of any particular successes or awards, periods spent abroad, internships
  • If applicable – evidence of first degree
  • If applicable – evidence of success in overcoming any obstacles during your education (evidence of educational progress) and/or of migration (copy of your birth certificate or ID)
  • If applicable – evidence of caring for your own children (copy of birth certificate/s)
  • If applicable – evidence of any disability (copy of disability ID)
  • If applicable – evidence of the loss of one or both parents (copy of death certificate/s)
  • If applicable – current BAföG award

Existing students

  • Enrolment confirmation at Kempten University of Applied Sciences
  • Credit certificates for previous semesters, citing average grade (including most recent winter semester)

Prospective students

  • If you your certificate of eligibility for university (e.g. “Abitur”) hasn’t been issued yet – most recent end-of-year / half-year school report.
  • If your enrolment confirmation hasn’t been issued yet: Offer of a place on a degree programme

As soon as you receive your their school-leaving certificate (eligibility for university), please email a copy to franziska.lenk@hs-kempten.de.

 

International applicants

  • Check/recognition of certificates by e more than uni-assist (preliminary review documentation – “VPD”)
  • In addition, applicants from China, Vietnam or Mongolia must also submit: Certificate from the Academic Verification Office (“Akademische Prüfstelle” – APS)
  • Evidence of language proficiency
  • All other evidence should be submitted in German or English.

Application process

2. Register in the applications gateway: DSTIP

  • The gateway for registrations – DSTIP – opens on 4 April 2023 at 10 a.m.

3. Apply online

  • First, you should read the application agreement (download from the applications gateway – DSTIP. )
  • Go through all the steps in the applications portal – DSTIP.
  • Upload all the required documents.

6. Await decision

  • You will be notified of the decision on your application by the end of October. In some cases, there might be a second-chance offer, e.g. if someone has to decline funding.
