Requirements:
The Computing Centre’s authentication and authorisation service is based on Shibboleth software. This provides all members of the university (students and staff) with access to secure online content from various providers.
To ensure online Single Sign-On regulations can be developed and adhered to with maximum uniformity, this service is run under the auspices of the DFN federation.
For example, the University Library provides cost-free access to a range of publishing houses and providers by this means. Shibboleth also provides the authentication and authorisation required to access software services such as Gigamove.
