Allocation of places

Apart from a number of special quotas, places on our degree programmes are allocated according to the final grade average of applicants’ first degrees, possibly combined with the result of an aptitude assessment (e.g. for the master’s degree programme inAutomation and Robotics). If you haven’t yet completed your degree, we will require confirmation from your university deadline that you have already earned at least either 180 ECTS Credit Points on a 7-semester bachelor’s degree programme (also applies to applicants from the DHBW) or 150 ECTS Credit Points on a 6-semester bachelor’s degree programme, to be submitted by the deadline for applications (31 July or 15 January). Without this confirmation, applicants cannot be admitted to the master’s degree programme. Applicants for the degree programmes in Energy Technology, Advanced Advanced Driver Assistance Systems, Production Engineering and Materials Science, Product Development in Mechanical and Plant Engineering, and Industrial Engineering – Mechanical Engineering only need to provide evidence of at least either 170 ECTS Credit Points on a 7-semester bachelor’s degree programme (also applies to applicants from DHBW) or 140 ECTS Credit Points on a 6-semester bachelor’s degree programme. If you are already a student at our university, you don’t need to submit this evidence.

Master’s degree programmes with exceptions

  • Social and Health Services Management: Your degree certificate or confirmation of your award must be submitted by 15 January (if applying for the following summer semester) or 31 July (if applying for the following winter semester). It is not possible to submit these documents any later.

It is not possible to apply to start the master’s degree programmes in Global Business Development or Technical Innovation and Product Management in a summer semester.
