Interesting facts about Kempten University of Applied Sciences

Kempten University of Applied Sciences is the only state institution of its kind in the Allgäu region of southern Germany, providing academic training in the scientific fields of mechanical engineering and electrical engineering, business administration and tourism, computer science and multimedia, and social and health studies . Since teaching commenced in 1978, this higher education hub at the foot of the Alps has gone from strength to strength.

Every year, several thousand prospective students apply for a place on a degree programme in Kempten. There are currently around 5,500 students enrolled at our university. More than 150 professors conduct the majority of lectures, supported by approx. 320 sessional lecturers from the private sector. The original makeshift premises on Bahnhofstrasse have evolved into an entire 53,000m² university campus with state-of-the-art teaching buildings, laboratories, a library and canteen. Some 470 non-academic personnel keep the operational wheels turning smoothly in administration, faculties and laboratories.

The distinct profile of Kempten University of Applied Sciences stems from a broad, well-grounded training on a few fundamental degree programmes with appropriate specialisations in their advanced components. The common key focus is on relevance to the real world and internationalisation. Furthermore, Kempten UAS is a Partner University for Sporting Excellence and strives to achieve “Competence driven by networked diversity”.

Wide-ranging collaborations with business and industry provide a solid basis for practically focused studies. More than 100 partner universities all over the world give you the opportunity to spend part of your time studying abroad .
