Rapid social shifts, such as demographic change or threats to social cohesion, coupled with a new degree of obscurity, calls for fundamental social innovations. New information and communication technologies (ICT) and types of artificial intelligence (AI) show what is possible but also reveal limitations. Our intention reflects the mission pursued by Kempten University of Applied Sciences as a whole – “to make a substantial and sustainable contribution towards solving contemporary and future challenges in our society”.
