Admission requirements

The same conditions apply to prospective guest students as to regular applicants for our core study programmes.

Applications

Please start by completing the online application process for your chosen degree programme. After that, please print your application and add the supporting documents, such as eligibility for university (e.g. “ABI” or “FOS” certificate), curriculum vitae and a copy of your passport.

In addition, please indicate on the application form that you are applying for admission as a guest student (e.g. hand-write “guest student”). Ideally, you should also state which lectures you have agreed to attend with the faculty, either on the application form itself or on a separate sheet. You can also provide this information by email if you prefer.

After submitting the application documents to the university, you will immediately be sent an offer of admission and the other documents for guest students.

    Important!

    • As many lectures are held annually, we recommend that you check the schedule with the faculty in question before applying to attend.
    • If you qualified for university entrance abroad, please also provide evidence of your proficiency in German and submit your certificate to uni-assist to be validated.
    • Unfortunately, guest students cannot be admitted to degree programmes with capped numbers.

    Fees

There is a fee for enrolling as a guest student.

    Fee per semester:

    • Up to 4 hours per week: € 100
    • 5–8 hours per week: € 200.00
    • More than 8 hours per week: € 300

Paid membership of the students’ union is not required.

    Examinations

Guest students are not entitled to take examinations. This means that no ECTS Credit Points are earned for attendance as guest student.
