Helping you find the right degree programme.

It’s often difficult to pinpoint the right degree programme or career. We recommend starting early to think about your main interests, skills and strengths, as this will simplify your quest for a suitable degree course and help you decide which area you’d like to work in later on. The following resources are available to help you decide:

  • Use the guidance services already available to you at school.
  • Talk to parents, friends and acquaintances.
  • Attend university fairs and the Careers Information Centre run by the Employment Agency (Agentur für Arbeit).
  • Arrange internships at companies that interest you.
  • Scour job vacancies for inspiration.
  • Browse in specialist magazines or get hold of a guide to degree programmes according to sector.
  • Find out about the degree programmes on offer, admission criteria and the availability of places on courses.
  • Talk to current students. The Student representative bodies or other student associations are the ideal starting point for making contact.

Deciding what to study

It’s often difficult to pinpoint the right degree programme or career. It often takes several years to be certain and find the right course. So start early on to think about what interests you and your personal preferences, skills and strengths. Your conclusions will make your search for potential careers and lines of work a whole lot easier. You can find an overview of the degree programmes that we offer in the Course Finder at Kempten University of Applied Sciences or in the list of programmes provided by each faculty: Business Administration. Electrical Engineering. Computer Science. Mechanical Engineering. Social & Health Studies and Tourism Management. In addition, our Kempten Business School.

Aptitude and personality tests

Companies and universities conduct various aptitude or personality tests. These are in no way used as an admissions hurdle, but are rather intended to help you gain a clearer idea of your strengths and identify suitable fields of work:
