The Institute for Applied Artificial Intelligence and Robotics (IKR) is dedicated to supporting companies both regionally and nationally in meeting the challenging requirements of our time. In view of the shortage of skilled workers and demographic change, increased integration of automation and artificial intelligence in companies is essential. This ensures long-term global competitiveness and enables companies to counteract increasing price pressure from low-wage countries while effectively managing their supply chains.
Expertise in robotics and artificial intelligence varies among local companies, ranging from experienced professionals to newcomers. The IKR specifically serves this spectrum by transferring research results to industry and offering independent consulting to achieve the aforementioned goals. It has proven experts in various fields, including mechatronic development and speech processing for human-machine interfaces, to cover a broad spectrum of applied AI and robotics.
As an innovation hub, the IKR acts as an intermediary between companies and their unique competencies. Joint projects result in innovative solutions to current challenges in the fields of automation, AI, and robotics.
The overall goal of the IKR is to drive forward the convergence of AI and robotics. The application of AI takes robotics to a new evolutionary level, facilitating the development and automation of solutions and robotic systems. This reduces time-to-market and enables companies to automate their production faster and more efficiently.
