The Bavarian Higher Education Act allocates the following tasks to the Extended Executive Board:

  • Advising and supporting university management in fulfilling its duties;
  • Compiling the university’s development plan incorporating the faculties’ development plans, perpetuates it, and presents it to University Council for resolution;
  • Resolving proposals for determining research priorities and setting up special research areas, postgraduate programmes and the corresponding facilities;
  • Determining the focal points of the budget in respect of the basic principles outlined in the Higher Education Act and incorporating conclusions from evaluating research and teaching and in consideration of the development plans proposed by the Executive Board;
  • Deciding upon applications for dividing the university into faculties.
