Bavaria’s “Hightech Agenda” is the state’s flagship initiative for technology and innovation. The state is spearheading this investment programme to provide long-term support to state universities and drive targeted initiatives in research, teaching and the transfer of knowledge within strategic future-focused fields –
primarily expanding scientific expertise, promoting technological innovation and the structural development of the higher education landscape in Bavaria. The scheme was launched in 2019 and further expanded under the auspices of “Hightech Agenda Plus”.
Bavaria is channelling its Hightech Agenda into strengthening future-focused sectors such as digitalisation, artificial intelligence, sustainable technologies, cutting-edge mobility and other key technologies.
A key component lies in creating new professorships and additional posts for academic and academic support staff. In addition, the initiative provides funding for infrastructure, research centres and the transfer of technology. The aim is to bring innovations into application and practice more quickly and to further enhance Bavaria’s competitiveness as a centre of science.
The Bavarian Hightech Agenda unleashes additional scope to develop the state’s universities of applied sciences. New professorships and increased capacity for study promote innovative teaching concepts, specialised fields of research and interdisciplinary collaboration.
At the same time, transfer structures are being strengthened to link scientific findings more closely with industry and society.
Kempten University of Applied Sciences is also benefitting from the impetus provided by the Bavarian Hightech Agenda. The initiative unleashes additional potential for purposefully honing strategic areas in research and teaching and for expanding innovative focal points.
As a university of applied sciences, Kempten UAS stands for practical training, application-oriented research and close cooperation with regional and national partners. The Bavarian Hightech Agenda supports this focus and strengthens our role as an innovation partner for business and society throughout the Allgäu region.
