Every person embodies diversity. We can map this diversity in core dimensions, Particularly age, physical and mental ability, ethnic and cultural background, gender, sexual orientation, and religion or beliefs. These human characteristics are protected by the General Equal Treatment Act.
The Diversity Charter has included “social background” as a further dimension of diversity. Kempten University of Applied Sciences signed the Charter in 2020.
Diversity management is a resource-centric approach that focuses on the similarities and differences between the members of an organisation. This creates conditions at Kempten University of Applied Sciences within which different people with their personalities and potential can find a place for further development.

The working party “AK BiPoC” is the student representation for students of colour and people who consider themselves allies.

New members are always very welcome!

Places to retreat for prayer
Unfortunately, there is no dedicated room yet to retreat to for quiet reflection and prayer at Kempten University of Applied Sciences. Nevertheless, we would like to assist students with somewhere to go on campus for this purpose.
Please feel free to ask your faculty or the Office for Equal Office for Equal Opportunities, Family Affairs and Diversity (BGFD).
Various places are offered as possibilities to retreat for prayer at the university of applied sciences. These include the room for parents to study with children, first aid rooms and the premises of the Ecumenical University Ministry. However, all these rooms are also used by other groups of people for retreat, e.g. for breastfeeding or for people with health issues. We would therefore ask for understanding and consideration, especially when using the first aid rooms. Please get in touch if you encounter any difficulties.
We would be happy to hear from you!
