Applying for a master’s degree programme

• Questionnaire for the aptitude test process

• If applicable, evidence of attaining at least level 4 in all aspects of the TestDaF German language test, or equivalent at the same level according to the Common European Reference Framework for Languages (CEFR)

• An essay of approximately 2,000 characters in English in which the applicant explores an academic question closely related to corporate sustainability or sustainable finance

  -- TOEFL test or  IELTS test (Internet-based TOEFL test (IBT): 75.0 points; IELTS test: 5.5 points)
  -- Graduates of an English-language degree programme are deemed to have provided this proof.
  -- Students who have achieved a grade of at least 2.5 in a regular compulsory or compulsory elective module in English during their studies are deemed to have provided this proof.
• Evidence of proficiency in German:
    -- to be submitted by applicants who are neither German nationals nor treated as such
    -- must be submitted within the first year of study; level A1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)

There is no need to get your degree verified by uni-assist.
Please don’t send us any letters of recommendation.

• Essay of approx. 2,000 words in English engaging with a scientific question on any topic from your degree subject in relation to at least one of the modules 1-4 or 8-11 from the Programme and Examination Regulations (“SPO”) GD
• Evidence of English at level B2 (e.g. ABI/FOS/BOS certificate, Unicert language certificate, BEC Vantage, telc)
• Evidence of at least three months spent abroad on a non-tourist visit to a country where a different language is spoken
• Basic knowledge of German (min. level A1) must be proven, at the latest during the first year of study

• Personal statement (paragraph of approx. 2,500 characters in German explaining reasons for applying and stating previous achievements, work experience and professional aim after completing the programme)

• Evidence of English equivalent to at least level B2 (e.g. ABI/FOS/BOS certificate, Unicert language certificate, BEC Vantage, telc)

• Questionnaire for the aptitude test process

• A first degree in a non-business/economics-related subject in the field of social or health care. To count as “non-economic”, a degree programme must have included no more than 30 Credit Points from modules focusing on business administration, economics or management – For example, ergotherapy, nutritional sciences, educational sciences, geriatric therapy, rehabilitation and care, gerontology, gerontological nursing and therapy, health sciences, human medicine, teaching, nursing, care sciences, pharmacy, physiotherapy, psychology, social work, social education or sports sciences.
  If you have a degree in a comparable subject not cited here, or are unsure whether your degree counts as “non-economic”, you can request that the Examinations Board for the Faculty of Social and Health Studies check and authorise it, if deemed suitable.
• If your bachelor’s degree is worth 180 ECTS credit points: Evidence of practical occupation in social or health care for at least 20 weeks (full-time) since acquiring first professional entry-level degree; alternatively, this can be performed within the first year of studying.

You can also apply before completing your degree programme, as long as you can demonstrate that you have already earned at least 170 ECTS Credit Points (from 210 ECTS in total) / 140 ECTS Credit Points (from 180 ECTS in total). The remaining ECTS Credit Points must be earned within one year of enrolling; otherwise enrolment will be annulled retrospectively.

Your statutory health insurance provider will confirm to us electronically that you either

• have voluntary insurance,
• compulsory insurance (via your parents or independently), or
• are exempt from compulsory insurance. 

If you have private health insurance or are exempt for any other reason, please contact any statutory health insurer (it doesn’t matter which) for advice, and they can potentially issue a certificate of exemption for the duration of your studies.

In this case, we will be advised electronically of your insurance status. You are not required to do or present anything else.
