Computing Centre with Central Media Laboratory

The Computing Centre is a central facility that provides a wide range of services. However, it is not the only one at the university, as some services are provided centrally by administrative IT and others provided or administered by the faculties themselves for their own staff and students.

The Computing Centre is in charge of the following provisions:

• Networking all the university’s IT facilities
• User support and advice
• IT rooms in Building V
• A range of software & services
• WiFi connections on campus
• Provision of central server facilities

Detailed instructions for setting up eduroam, WiFi, VPN, email, software, etc. are provided below each service.

• Monday to Thursday:
  8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
• Friday:
  8 a.m. – 12 noon

The Central Media Laboratory is open to students, professors and staff for the loan of equipment such as video cameras plus accessories (e.g. lights and backdrops), cameras plus accessories (e.g. various lenses and flashes), laptops, musical equipment (e.g. microphones or mixing desks), and dictaphones for use in projects, lectures and dissertations.
 

If you wish to produce a recording related to the university or a student project, you can also arrange for assistance from the video service. We can provide you with a director of photography and a media designer to assist with planning, filming, editing and post-production.
