Dual master’s degree programme in Electrical Engineering

Ulster University, United Kingdom

If, after graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Kempten University of Applied Sciences, you go on to study on the master’s programme in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, you can also gain a U.K. qualification from the University of Ulster if you opt to study there for an integrated semester in addition to the Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) awarded by Kempten University of Applied Sciences.

  • This programme is only open to students who gained their bachelor’s degree at Kempten University of Applied Sciences.
  • The first semester is spent studying at Kempten University of Applied Sciences on the master’s degree programme in Electrical Engineering.
  • You will study for the second semester at the University of Ulster in Northern Ireland.
  • It is up to you at which university you write your master’s thesis.
  • Your studies will be recognised by both institutions.

Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana (UPB), Colombia

By spending an additional semester at the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana, you can supplement your Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) from Kempten University of Applied Sciences with a Magister en Ingenieria Area de Transmision y Distribucion de Energia Electrica from the UPB.

  • All the required examinations are completed beforehand at Kempten University of Applied Sciences.
  • You can then study for an additional semester worth 30 ECTS Credit Points at the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana.
  • The programme of study comprises three fixed courses, each worth 5 ECTS Credit Points, plus a research project earning 15 ECTS Credit Points.

Tallinna Tehnikaülikool (TalTech), Estonia

No extra time is required to complete the dual degree programme with TalTech, as the semester in Tallinn already starts in September and the time spent there will be approximately 8 months, meaning that you will finish at about the same time as your counterparts in Kempten. If you pass all the required elements, you will earn both your Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) from Kempten University of Applied Sciences and a Master of Science from TalTech.

  • All the required examinations (earning 60 ECTS Credit Points) must have been completed beforehand at Kempten University of Applied Sciences.
  • You will write your master’s thesis during the third semester at  TalTech and take two courses there, each worth 4 ECTS Credit Points.

If you are interested in earning a dual master’s degree, please submit your application to the Faculty of Electrical Engineering . Further information is also available in your faculty (Professor Biechl), or from the International Office.
