Werdegang

Dr. Katharina Mahne hat Soziologie, Psychologie und Politikwissenschaften an der Freien Universität Berlin studiert. Sie promovierte an der Humboldt Universität zu Berlin im Bereich Familien-, Alter(n)s- und Ungleichheitssoziologie.

Berufliche Stationen umfassen das Sozio-oekonomischen Panel (SOEP) am DIW Berlin sowie die wissenschaftliche Mitarbeit am Deutschen Zentrum für Altersfragen (DZA Berlin). Dort hatte sie zwischen 2013 und 2017 die Leitung des Deutschen Alterssurveys (DEAS) inne. Seit 2018 freiberufliche Tätigkeit in der Erwachsenenbildung sowie körperpsychotherapeutische Arbeit in eigener Praxis und einer psychosomatischen Klinik. Seit Mai 2024 wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin am Bayerischen Zentrum für Pflege Digital (BZPD).
 

Dr. Katharina Mahne studied sociology, psychology and political science at the Free University of Berlin. She completed her doctorate at the Humboldt University of Berlin in the fields of sociology of the family, age(ing) and inequality.

Her professional experience includes the Socio-Economic Panel (SOEP) at DIW Berlin and research work at the German Center of Gerontology (DZA Berlin). There she was head of the German Ageing Survey (DEAS) between 2013 and 2017. Since 2018 freelance work in adult education and body psychotherapy in her own practice and a psychosomatic clinic. Since May 2024 research associate at the Bavarian Center for Digital Health and Social Care (BZPD).
