This includes designing and coordinating events and networking opportunities, providing information and materials, offering various forms of individual support, and coordinating projects and activities addressing teaching and learning in higher education. Our services

Collaborations and cooperation

We work with various entities both within and outside the university to continuously improve and refine teaching – generating joint offers, innovative projects and a valuable exchange of knowledge and experience. Our aim is to harness synergies and optimise support for teachers – in the forms of technical expertise, didactical inspiration and practically relevant programmes.

Institute for Digital Transformation in Work, Education and Society (IDT)

The Institute for Digital Transformation in Work, Education and Society (IDT) and the ZHK work closely together. Their common aim is to enable teachers to stay adept with teaching formats, which includes taking the increasingly digital world in their stride. One of the IDT’s lines of research investigates digital education, sharing its findings with the ZHK. In addition, the IDT offers individual support to teachers wishing to use digital tools. The IDT and the ZHK also work together on digital formats for university teaching. This close collaboration creates practically relevant solutions for future-focused teaching.

Bavarian Centre for Innovative Teaching (BayZiel)

The Bavarian Centre for Innovative Teaching (BayZiel) offers an extensive programme to support higher education, which we actively incorporate into our package. In particular, the Didactics Centre at BayZiel runs various seminars for teachers, which our own staff are eligible to attend. Our didactics mentors form a tight interface with BayZiel, which nurtures exchange with other specialists on innovative teaching approaches and examples of best practice.

Virtual University of Bavaria (vhb)

The Virtuelle Hochschule Bayern (vhb) runs a platform for digital teaching, promotes innovative e-learning concepts and enables teachers to integrate existing online classes into their courses. Not only do we use the interesting classes on offer for our teaching staff, but the vhb’s "Instructional Designer” project also supports us with advice on questions relating to digital teaching.

In-house professional development at Kempten UAS

The ZHK collaborates closely with our in-house professional development team to design a harmonised, extensive choice of courses for teaching staff. We coordinate topics of interest, harness synergies and develop joint offers encompassing didactical and specialist professional development. The aim is to provide tailor-made support that meets teachers’ needs, addressing didactical methods and university-wide topics.

Team and contacts

Our team combines expertise in higher education didactics, consultancy and innovative teaching methods. Experienced university practitioners and consultants are on hand to assist teachers with continually refining their methods. Didactics mentors – themselves experienced professors – inject knowledge of teaching practice, encourage exchange between tried-and-tested teaching strategies, and network with other universities of applied sciences. Students and scientific assistants enrich the team with fresh perspectives. An instructional designer@vhb provides advice on digital teaching and technology-assisted learning concepts.
