Accreditation – recognising the quality of our degree programmes
Accrediting degree programmes serves quality assurance in education. The process also aids comparisons and rankings alongside other universities in Germany and abroad.
The aspects evaluated include:
- Fundamental concept, subject matter and teaching
- The programme’s objectives
- Teaching staff
- Student progression between admission and graduation
The German accreditation process: The Accreditation Council (comprising members of the Conference of University of Applied Science Rectors and the Conference of Minsters of Culture) is the central decision-making body of the Foundation for Accrediting Degree Programmes in Germany. Its task is to accredit and monitor the accreditation agencies, which in turn accredit degree programmes.
