Arriving in Kempten and starting to study
During the Orientation Period, we offer all international students arriving in Kempten a two-week induction programme.
You will have the chance to complete important formalities and find your way around the university and town of Kempten. Besides getting plenty of practical advice, you will also get to know many other students on the induction programme.
During the Orientation Period, you can tick off the following to-dos:
- Register your presence in Kempten
- Visa/residence permit
- Health insurance
- Open a bank account
- Get advice on enrolling as a student and your timetable
There is also a wide range of events:
- Intercultural training with insights into German culture
- Trip to Schloss Neuschwanstein
- Campus and town point-to-point
- Guided tour of Kempten
- Local excursions
- Welcome party for all international students and their local buddies
Attendance
- Attendance is compulsory for all exchange students.
- Attendance is advisable for the international degree-seeking students.
- It costs nothing to take part. (Apart from the excursions, which might be subject to a small fee.)
Registration
Exchange students are automatically registered when they are nominated by their home university.
