As an Erasmus+ university, Kempten University of Applied Sciences contributes to the European “lifelong learning” education programme particularly by promoting the mobility of students, lecturers and staff throughout Europe. More than 60 collaboration partners are involved in the Erasmus+ programme. A high proportion of students studies abroad for a while or completes an internship elsewhere in Europe.

Kempten University of Applied Sciences is a member of the International Lake Constance University of Applied Sciences (Internationale Bodenseehochschule – IBH), an association of 30 traditional universities and universities of applied sciences in Germany, Liechtenstein, Austria and Switzerland. Our membership constitues a sustainable effort to support cross-border collaborative research and development with local companies, offers new study programmes, and improves the range of training and professional development opportunities offered throughout the region.

Kempten University of Applied Sciences is a partner institution for training Malaysia’s future managers. This programme of academic collaboration between the Free State of Bavaria and the Republic of Malaysia has encouraged young Malaysians to study engineering sciences at Bavarian universities since its inception in 2003. We have been welcoming up-and-coming Malaysian managers to study courses in electrical and mechanical engineering at Kempten University of Applied Sciences under the auspices of this scheme since 2007.
To further research into (church) bells, Kempten University of Applied Sciences established the European Centre of Competence for Campanology, with the involvement of foreign collaboration partners.
